Adopt a Fotkin
Adopt a Fotkin Contest is an action to create brother- or sisterhoods between two Fotkins of different race, origin, culture or religion.
Make contact with the Fotkin you want to become or are already friend with and send us his/her photo you made. If you didn't have a chance to meet your Fotki sibling make a photo of their photo or Fotki page on your monitor and decorate it as a still life with some symbol(s) of friendship. The final goal of this contest should be that you meet one day in person or better, visit each other.
Important! Contact your Fotkin of choice first to be sure to act in mutual consent. Tell us the story.

Cabo Verde is a group of islands situated near the African coast in the Atlantic ocean. It is an independent nation. I traveled there in 2002 for the first time, and visited some of these islands, including Fogo. The photos I made attracted the attention of Bai, a Fotki member from the USA, living on the west coast, whose grandparents were born on Fogo. She expressed her desire to visit her roots at least once in her life... So I told her about these beautiful islands, the people who live there, their culture, language, music. And sent her a Cabo Verde travel guide with a 10 dollar note inside to make a start with savings for this trip. We promised each other that once upon a time we'll meet there to visit Fogo and the other islands together...

I wonder if we could get Fotki to install rss feed to this special contest so that we could bookmark it to check on the newest updates of our friendships, or what would be even better, to open this contests for new submissions and make it the "Fotki-Friendships" place where people can place stories about friendships that go beyond adding someone to the friends list and end(ed) up in F-dubya-C - "Friendship Without Computers". It could be featured on the mainpage and via rss feed or by just clicking at the main page we would be always up to date on great and inspiring stories of new friendships and the progress of already exsisting ones.
So how ever, keep us up to date, let's us all gather back here under Johns great entry to find the link to the "John and Bai on Fogo" album :D
