Our school held the first annual "An Evening Around The World: A Taste of Kanawha City Elementary" on February 29, 2008. Each class selected a country. We celebrated and shared our diversity including 11 countries with foods, brief history and clothing/items from each country. We raised money for our School's Technology Fund(to purchase laptop computers, white boards and projectors) and learned about one another's culture. We have 13 different languages spoken in our school and we wanted to share this diversity.
